Mix it UP!

I love this photo ~ I borrowed it from the Tory Burch Website - www.toryburch.com
Tory does a tremendous job projecting trends for the seasons ahead , I am an avid follower!
Right now is all about mixing tweeds with polka dots or stripes - its fun, its flirty and there seems to be no boundaries.   Forget about matching your top with your pants- mix up prints for a fun look.

How long will this trend last ? Hmmm not sure on that but right now the fashion designers are giving us permission "not to match" and that is a fun thing!

The iconic designer Diane von Furstenberg never seems to amaze me .  She continually reinvents herself coming up with new , fresh ideas for her amazing clothing line.

Below is taken directly from the TODAY show website , an exciting piece written by Rachel Elbaum - Thank YOU Rachel !

The legendary clothing designer shows her new line for GapKids, which hit U.S. stores yesterday and will be released internationally on March 28.

These days, designers are bursting at the seams to collaborate with stores, and with good reason: Jason Wu for Target sold out in hours and Versace’s collection for H&M was just as sought-after.
Now, it’s Diane von Furstenberg’s turn. The designer of the iconic wrap dress has shrunk her sights and come out with a collection of baby and little girl's clothing for GapKids.
It’s DVF’s first collaboration, but she has stayed true to her roots. There are wrap dresses, belted rompers, espadrilles and even a few brightly colored bathing suits  and of course, plenty of her signature patterns.
"(As a designer), you want to do something that both mothers and children will love," von Furstenberg told Savannah Guthrie on TODAY Friday. "And I think we really have done that. I think it’s very fun, happy and optimistic and practical."
The collection arrived in stores and on the website on Thursday, and several hours later there were already reports that some locations had sold out.Styles are still available online and, the website reports, in stores.
Here are some of our favorites:

GAP
Wrap romper in ming jade, $55
GAP
Belted romper, $55
GAP
Big heart graphic T, $35
GAP
Daisy dress, $75
GAP
Espadrilles in wild orchid, $45
GAP
Printed swimsuit, $45
GAP
Wrap romper in blue, $55
GAP
Floppy sunhat, $25
GAP
Trimmed cardigan, $45
Will you be buying clothing from this collection for your little ones? What other designers would you like to see collaborate with Gap?
Rachel Elbaum is a London-based writer who wishes she had little girls to dress in these wrap rompers.

Happy National Ag Day ~ Thankful Thursday

We are taking a break from my weekly Fashion Friday segment to mix things up a bit and create a Thankful Thursday ~ how does that sound?  Because if we break it down , without the farmer to grow the cotton to make the fabulous clothes we wouldnt have a Fashion Friday - right?

Today is National Ag Day !  A special thanks to the farmers and ranchers in America who tirelessly work each and every day to provide an abundance of choices for the American consumer.  And to the American consumer- Thank You for without you we would not be in business.

Today I stand proud to be a voice for our industry, to be a face to agriculture, a friend to my fellow farmers and ranchers and a resource to those of you who might have a question about where your food comes from or how it is produced.

I am grateful for having the opportunity to be raised on a farm and to still live there to this very day.  To having day to day interaction with my mom and dad and grandma and grandpa and a wide array of cows, horses, sheep, chickens, dogs and cats!  I am the person I am today because of the experiences from the farm.  From the glorious birth of baby animals to the struggles of disking a crop due to poor markets and everything in between- the Farm has created me. It has taught me about tremendous joys and extreme lows- it taught me LIFE.

Blessed to be a part of it all ~  Thank You doesn’t seem like enough!
Do you know a Farmer or Rancher? Reach out - Talk to them - Start a Conversation!
Dont know one- Talk to me - we have a whole wonderful world of them eager to start the conversation, connect the dots and create a relationship with their consumers!
